COVID-19 UPDATES

What is the latest?

9/1/2021 — We have partnered with ARIA Laboratory, which is a local lab, to administer our COVID testing. We are now swabbing patients in our office, whether your child is experiencing symptoms or not. Please call or text our office at 317-582-7257 to schedule an appointment. We can get in your child fairly quickly, and we are emailing out results typically in less than 48 hours. All testing is submitted through your insurance.

8/9/2021 — We are adhering to the CDC and AAP guidelines that all children, regardless of vaccination status, should be wearing a mask in school. We understand schools are currently not making masks mandatory. Unfortunately, we do not have any pull with the school systems, nor are we in a position to dictate school policy. If you feel inclined, you are welcome to share the following links with school administrators:

The Delta variant certainly concerns us, so we do recommend that you be vaccinated (see below) and wear masks in public places.

Should we be vaccinated?

We HIGHLY recommend that you, the parents, receive the vaccination. We firmly believe in the science behind the vaccines. To learn more about the vaccine, click here to see a brief, simple demonstration from Dr. Wiese.

We also recommend that you vaccinate your children 12 years and older. We do believe that children under the age of 12 will be due up to be vaccinated sooner rather than later. We will update this page when that does indeed happen.

What if my child is experiencing COVID-like symptoms?

We have partnered with ARIA Laboratory, which is a local lab, to administer our COVID testing. We are now swabbing patients in our office, whether your child is experiencing symptoms or not. Please call or text our office at 317-582-7257 to schedule an appointment. We can get in your child fairly quickly, and we are emailing out results typically in less than 48 hours. All testing is submitted through your insurance.

Here are two additional places to be tested if you or your children are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms:

Indiana State Department of Health — Once you register and have your registration ID, you can go to any testing site and walk in to be tested.

ARIA Diagnostics — if you want to be tested here, please call our office, as we will need to send an order to the lab.

We highly recommend that you receive the PCR test, not the rapid antigen test, as the PCR test is far more accurate, especially for those who are asymptomatic.
